Payment and Fees

A standard session lasts 55 minutes – fees for longer sessions are prorated accordingly. Please contact Dr. Rebeck regarding current fees for her services.

Dr. Rebeck is in network with Blue Cross PPO, but not other insurance companies. If she is in network with your insurance company, then she will bill your insurer directly for their portion of the fee and you are responsible for your portion at the time of service. If Dr. Rebeck is not in your insurance network, then full payment is expected at the time of service. Dr Rebeck will fill out a generic insurance form for you to submit to your insurance. Credit and debit cards are not accepted, but a check is fine.

Coming to see Dr. Rebeck is an investment in you or your family’s future personal development. Many people use their medical insurance for either partial or full fee reimbursement, whereas others choose to pay for services privately.

If insurance is used, confidentiality issues arise. Insurance companies require medical necessity and a psychiatric diagnosis (for example, using a label such as “depression”), type of therapy, and the dates of service.

Some insurance plans require “Managed Care” in which case they require more detailed personal information for session approval. Also, there are national insurance databases that enable other insurers to access this information and use it to make decisions regarding future applications for medical, life, disability, or long term care insurance. This is a concern for some people but not others.

Self-payment assures your complete privacy within the limits of state and federal laws. You may consider paying for her services yourself as you would for other personal or business services that you value. The fee for her services is deductible as a medical expense, to the extent allowed by federal tax laws.

Of course, your insurance cannot be used to cover certain services that are not considered to be psychiatric illnesses, such as life or business coaching. Medical insurance typically covers hypnotherapy for some psychiatric problems, but not for smoking cessation.

Dr. Rebeck is a preferred provider with Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Cash or checks are acceptable for payment, but she doesn’t accept credit card payments.
